Announcing A New Adventure... With You
We are about to embark on a journey together, let's talk about it.
We are going to start something new right here on substack. Every week, I am going to give you a piece of an ongoing story called Parallelium. Originally I had planned on making a webcomic with it, but because of the whole “not being able to art” thing, I decided to push forward with it being prose.
Every piece will be around the 500-word mark and will continue from the previous weeks. Right now, the original story will have 12 weeks’ worth of posts, but it is set up to go on from there. I will also accompany each week with one of my really bad sketches.
Now, what this really means is that you all are my beta readers, and that serves a key function. If you like what you're reading the best thing you can do to help is tell people about it. Let them know what you find exciting. It truly makes all of the difference. I allowed a buddy of mine to read the first part, and here is what he had to say:
“Aaron shows off his ability to make inner monologue seem easy. The narration flows almost song-like. I feel like as this story progresses it will resonate with guys of our generation.” - Van Claridge
Alright, now let's give you the synopsis and the cover before we launch into this thing on September 1st.
About Parallelium:
“Ethan Pedersen discovered his thirties to be filled with nothing but nihilism and apatheism. It is not that he hated his life; rather, it was the constant letdown of existence. Finding a path in a world that seemed like a simulation proved to be a taxing endeavor. All of this remained true until the moment he opened that damned box that an elderly woman left him. Now, Ethan is stuck god-knows-where and has to do god-knows-what to get back to a life he doesn’t care much about.
Parallelium is the story of discovering your purpose in this universe or another.”
I will be promoting this on my personal socials fairly soon, but you get to know before anyone else. Thank you all so much for being so supportive of my creative endeavors. I really hope that this is a way to give something meaningful back to you all.
